Website Design & Rebranding
Tall Poppy is a security company created to help people stay safe in the face of online harassment. The website serves as an informational hub detailing the security services available.
Role: Visual design, illustration, Webflow development.
Intro
The Tall Poppy website was a challenging project that had to tackle how we presented ourselves as a company. The original website that existed before I was brought on as designer lacked clarity and left visitors wondering what it is that we did as a company. I worked closely with our Technical Program Manager who wrote the copy to design a website that was pleasing to the eye and embodied our values of leading with compassion and education vs. fear.
Goals
- Design a website that reenvisioned our visuals to align more with company values.
- Provide resources for visitors who were currently in the middle of receiving online harassment.
- Inform visitors about our services in a way that they left feeling like they knew what we were all about.
Evaluating the old website
The old website left our visitors confused. There was a lot of text and no clear story being told. People left without understanding what our company did.
I was inspired to draw this image as I became more acquainted with the Tall Poppy brand. It became the foundation for the website redesign and I illustrated all other graphics in a similar style.
The new website
The new website, with the help of the Technical Program Manager, tells a clear story from start to finish. It's explicit about what we do, who we’ve worked with, and what prominent members of the tech community think about us. Additionally, the imagery and colors I used spoke to our mission of leading with compassion rather than fear in approaching potential customers.
Conclusion
The Tall Poppy website was a very fulfilling project to work on. I felt that I really understood our brand and how we wanted to approach customers. I was allowed to flex my creative muscles and come up with something that I felt was unique and and eye-catching in the security space.
